Don’t forget, the UK GPS Adventures Maze is appearing the Severn UK Mega 2025 from Thursday 31st July to Saturday 2nd August.
It’s likely to be busiest on Thursday morning and generally on Saturday during the Mega itself. So if you want a less busy time, we recommend Thursday afternoon or anytime on Friday. Regardless of which day you visit, all logs will be dated Saturday, 2nd August. There will also be a fresh set of 10 adventure labs based on the maze panels, and some refreshed interactive elements placed around the panels.

We have some new Maze merch which will be on sale on the day, and the few bits and pieces leftover from London Calling too (there really isn’t much of that left).

We’re very pleased to announce the launch of the GPS Adventures Maze UK. A custom-built GPS Adventures Maze exhibit, created specifically for the UK audience. This is only the second time this rare Geocaching icon has been available in the UK; the last time was at the North Wales Mega in 2016.
What is the GPS Adventures Maze?
The GPS Adventures Maze is a temporary exhibit on the use of GPS and Geocaching since its inception nearly 25 years ago. It originally travelled the United States from June 2007 onwards, but in the last decade has instead been more commonly seen attached to Mega and Giga events around the world.
It is not a “maze” as such, but a series of displays which explain the history of GPS, and all about Geocaching both historic and modern. Hidden within the GPS Maze will be an additional set of ten adventure labs which can only be logged by visiting the maze.
For most of the past decade, there has been a single GPS Maze within Europe, owned by the Czech Geocaching Association as GPS Maze Europe. It is that Maze which made an appearance at the Official UK Mega in North Wales in 2016. More recently, a French GPS Maze has been created, and we are pleased to say that London Calling 2025 will be the debut of more mazes for Europe, including the first totally custom-created for the UK.
Much like an event or a Mega, each GPS Maze appearance has its own GC code, and you can log each appearance once. So even if you visited the Maze in North Wales back in 2016, you can also log this one – like attending two different events.
Each time a Maze opens, it is required to be open for attendees for at least three days. However, there is a designated day that all logs are taken as being on. For the upcoming Maze, this is Saturday 3rd May, the same day as London Calling 2025. That means that even if you attend on Friday 2nd or Sunday 4th, your log will still come through on the system as Saturday 3rd. We appreciate this is a bit odd, but it’s just how GPS Mazes work.
Attending the GPS Maze is free, however, we will be using a virtual queuing system. This is to prevent some of the queues seen at other GPS Mazes as we’d much rather give you that time to go caching nearby. This system will be in place on the Saturday, and we may also use it on the Friday and Sunday if the queues get silly.
